Vigor Will Soon Be Free to Play on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation

As many of you may know, Gamescom 2020 has come and gone. There were a lot of great games previewed and discussed, but for now, we're going to focus on one in particular. Vigor is an online, third-person, multiplayer looter shooter set after the last great war, one that ended with nukes. You are located in Norway, which has become the last great stronghold of humanity and is occupied by the Outlanders.

Vigor allows you to either work with or fight 8-12 players as you all try to survive, loot, and build to become a courageous Outlander in this destitute world. You must explore the map to find resources and items. These resources will be necessary to build shelters and are vital to your survival. This should feel familiar to anyone who's played Bohemia Interactive's previous games: DayZ and ARMA 3.

The game just went into its 4th season, on June 17th of this year, labeled Warlords. This update introduced quite a few new features, most notably a new Battle Pass theme and a new elimination 5 vs 5 game mode where you fight with Warlords, the leaders of Elimination. There are also a few new cosmetic features, like facepaint, as well as some new tools, weapons, and a new collection of lighter mementos. Check out the Season 4: Warlords Trailer for more information.

Vigor is free-to-play and currently exclusively available on Xbox One, however, in their Gamescom 2020 trailer, they not only announced the game's release for PS4 on November 25 and PS5 later this holiday season, but they are also releasing it free on Nintendo Switch starting September 23. Vigor hit the Nintendo eShop early July this year and is currently on sale for $19.99, and is bundled with the Founder's Pack. The cherry on top is that unlike on Xbox One, where an Xbox Live membership is required, a Switch Online membership is not needed to play Vigor.
