Cyberpunk 2077 has been Removed from the PlayStation Store

After seven long years, Cyberpunk 2077, from acclaimed developer CD Projekt Red, is finally out. And just like that, it's gone again. Following the worldwide release of the game, players started to notice that although the PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of the game looked great, the last-gen counterparts on base Xbox One and PS4 were a totally different case. While the game was praised by most media outlets upon release, reviews for those older consoles have been harsh and, for the most part, rightfully so. For example, IGN gave Cyberpunk 2077 on PC a 9/10, nominating it for their Game of the Year, but they gave it a 4/10 on last-gen hardware, advising players to stay away from that version of the game entirely.

Due to this backlash, CD Projekt Red apologized for the bugs and glitches and stated that players unhappy with the game can request a refund and get their money back. While this was the case for the PC version of the game, not as many players on Xbox and PlayStation were being granted refunds. Now, after some silence, Sony Interactive Entertainment has come out and made a statement that it will offer full refunds to players who purchased the game digitally via the PlayStation store.

On their official refund page they say: "Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund.  Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution." Click here if you bought the game on the PS Store and want to start the refund process.

But they didn't stop there. SIE also went ahead and delisted Cyberpunk 2077 from the PS Store completely, stating: "SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice." Currently, if you search for the game on the store, there are 5 results. One of which is Observer: System Redux, a game we reviewed last month and one that we highly recommend if you want your next-gen cyberpunk itch scratched as you wait for CP2077 to come back.
