Biomutant Release Date Scheduled for May and Collector's Edition Detailed

First announced in 2017, Biomutant from THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 has remained relatively radio silent. To the point where back in February of 2020, the development team issued a statement to fans who were looking forward to the release of the martial arts-focused third-person action game that Biomutant was still in fact in development and that more information would be on the way. Since then we've seen one extended gameplay video released during IGN's Summer of Gaming event followed by an interview, but now we have the big news. Biomutant will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 25, 2021.

But that's not all. There are three editions of the game that are now available for pre-order: the standard edition which costs $59.99, the Collector's Edition which comes in at $119.99, and finally the Atomic Edition which more than doubles the asking price to $399.

The Collector's Edition of Biomutant comes with the game, the official soundtrack, a figurine, and A1 artwork on fabric, all packaged in a premium box. The Atomic Edition takes it to the next level offering a high detail diorama, a steelbook case, an oversized mousepad, a Biomutant t-shirt (available in L and XL) along with the game, soundtrack, and premium box of the previous edition.

In the weeks leading up to the game's launch in May, the developers have stated that more information will be released. But what we know so far is that Biomutant is an open-world action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic backdrop with a martial arts combat system at its center. That's all for now, but Biomutant is a game I've been looking forward to for a while now and it's exciting to finally get a date on it. Best of luck to the developers and I hope they can stick the landing on this one.
